This will surely be an interesting year for Game Engines. I predict some won’t survive.
Epic has announced their new $19/month licensing plan for UE4, which means that Epic just did to Unity what Unity did to GarageGames when it made Unity free for Indie developers and later made Unity Mobile free as well.
I’m really enjoying working with Unity. And the announced features for Unity 5 look promising indeed.
I hope Unity finds a way to stay competitive with Epic.
Edit: Now Crytek has thrown their hat in the ring. And they only want $10 a month. The guys at Unity need to get working on a solid response.
